Who We Are

Welcome to ACEing Autism Ann Arbor, we are so excited for you to join us! Through tennis drills and games, our amazing volunteers provide an enjoyable experience for our athletes that allows them to develop social connections, foster a love of fitness, improve motor skills and hand-eye coordination, and overall just have fun.

Our program is primarily run by student volunteers from the University of Michigan so volunteer scheduling is done through sign up sheets that are sent out each week. If you are not a Michigan student or if you are not on the email list and wish to sign up to volunteer, contact the program directors and we will assist you!

We can't wait to see you out on the courts!

What We Do

Trained Program Directors and volunteers lead participants through our curriculum. At the very heart, tennis is a social game that furnishes a natural opportunity to develop and reinforce skills that many children on the spectrum find a struggle: turn-taking, focus and attending, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, and more. Our Program Directors meet athletes where they are at and progress through our curriculum at their own pace.

We offer weekly tennis clinics for children with autism between the ages of 5 and 18. Our clinics run for one hour, with sessions running for six to eight weeks at a time. The children in our program do not need prior tennis knowledge as our curriculum & volunteers support each child’s individual abilities and needs!
