USTA Safesport Course Instructions for New England Volunteers

All volunteers at ACEing Autism New England Region programs are required to complete the SafePlay SafeSport course: Creating Safe and Inclusive Environments for Athletes with Disabilities - USTA. 


A key role you play as a volunteer is to help all athletes feel safe, supported, and strengthened in everything they do in their sport. This training will help you learn how to provide that support to the athletes that ACEing Autism serves. It will cover:

  • Terminology & Definitions
  • Inclusive Environments
  • Working with Athletes with Disabilities
  • Recognizing Abuse & Misconduct
  • Responding To and Reporting Abuse & Misconduct

Time it will take to complete the course: 40-50 minutes


Please follow these steps to complete the course:

  1. Create an account or Sign In to your existing USTA account HERE!
  2. Hover over the SAFEPLAY menu item at the top of the page.
  3. Click ADDITIONAL SAFE SPORT COURSES
  4. Press TAKE COURSE under the course titled: Creating Safe and Inclusive Environments for Athletes with Disabilities - USTA
  5. Once complete, return to your USTA account and complete steps 2 & 3 again. At the top of the page, it should list the completed course with a button to DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATE
  6. Download the certificate and return to the ACEing volunteer opportunity on Galaxy 
  7. Click the Respond button, choose the option Yes, then press submit your Qualification
