Who We Are

Hi, I am Connor! I am a junior at Whitney High School in Cerritos (WHS), and  I have been a volunteer for ACEing Autism since the Spring of 2024. Since then, I’ve taken a great liking for the program and am excited for the upcoming opportunity to run one as a director. I have been playing tennis since I was 7 years old, and I am currently playing with the WHS Boys varsity tennis team. I’m looking forward to a successful ACEing Autism Cerritos!

Hi, I’m Aiden! I am a junior at Huntington Beach High School and play on its junior varsity team. I fell in love with tennis since I was 9, excelling in both doubles and singles. One of my biggest passions is getting to know people through tennis. I’ve been a frequent volunteer since the spring of 2024 and am so grateful for the opportunity to get a more hands-on experience teaching others my passion.

Hello, I am Kayden. I am a junior at Huntington Beach High School. After first picking up a racket at age eight, my interest for tennis has only grown over the last nearly eight years. Now, I commit my time to helping children on the autistic spectrum and others in need to develop their passion for this great sport, too. I look forward to helping the Cerritos branch grow into a truly impactful program!

Hi, I am Vibra. I am a junior at Whitney High School in Cerritos, and have been playing tennis for close to four years, developing a passion for the game. Since the Spring of 2024, I have been volunteering at the various ACEing locations and accustoming myself to the goals and visions of ACEing Autism. I am tremendously grateful for the opportunity to collaborate as one of the Program Directors for Cerritos, and I am excited for what’s to come in the future.

Hi, I'm C. Michael Dang. I am a retired radiologist who enjoys enabling young adults on their ways to developing their full potentials. I will be hands-on in helping my son, Connor Dang, and our friend, Aiden Nguyen, to make our new Aceing Autism program at Cerritos as helpful and resourceful to the community of children of autistic spectrum as it is meant to be, and to ensure its future success.

Session Details:

Required on-court volunteer training: September 7 (11:45 am)

Clinics will run from 12:45-1:45pm on the following Saturdays:

  • Sept 7, 14, 21, 28
  • October 5, 12

What We Do

Trained Program Directors and volunteers lead participants through our curriculum. At the very heart, tennis is a social game that furnishes a natural opportunity to develop and reinforce skills that many children on the spectrum find a struggle: turn-taking, focus and attending, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, and more. Our Program Directors meet athletes where they are at and progress through our curriculum at their own pace.

We offer weekly tennis clinics for children with autism between the ages of 5 and 18. Our clinics run for one hour, with sessions running for six to eight weeks at a time. Volunteers are paired up with a participant, hopefully for the duration of the session. The children in our program do not need prior tennis knowledge as our curriculum & volunteers support each child’s individual abilities and needs!
